Our Moment is Black history is Jerry Lawson also k Our Moment is Black history is Jerry Lawson also know as “Father of Modern Gaming” He is known for his work in designing the Fairchild Channel F video game console as well as leading the team that pioneered the commercial video game cartridge. He created the early arcade game Demolition Derby in his garage. A display of Lawson's contribution to the gaming industry on permanent display at The World Video Game Hall of Fame at The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York. Today Moment in Black History is the Capital Savin Today Moment in Black History is the Capital Savings Bank Founded in Washington, DC on Oct. 17, 1888, Capital Savings helped stimulate Black entrepreneurship by offering loans to Black-owned businesses and landowners when white-owned banks would not. Confidence in the bank continued to grow, and, by 1892, deposits were estimated at $300,000. Although Capital Savings Bank closed its doors in 1902, it became a model for other Black-owned banks across the country. His first major deal was the purchase of the McCall Pattern Company, a home sewing pattern business, for $22.5 million n 1987, Lewis bought Beatrice International Foods from Beatrice Companies for $985 million, renaming it TLC Beatrice International Holdings Inc.
